I SING OF TWO WORLDS

Saturday 12 August 2.30pm

The Schola Sacra Choir and Youth Chorus present ‘I Sing of Two Worlds’.  The concert culminates in ‘An Anniversary Mass’ by Palmerston North composer Graham Parsons, which premiered to great acclaim in 2015.  The Latin Mass is interspersed with soloists rendering four poem extracts including American Quaker John Whittier, an anonymous 19th Century children’s poem and the 19th Century American Henry Van Dyke.  Choral Masterpieces by Charles Wood and Mozart open the programme and the Youth Chorus sings a bracket of New Zealand Works including ‘The Ruru’ by Jenny McLeod, and rousing numbers by Blerta and Ken Avery.
